How to write an estimate that wins the job
- Do a walkthrough firstUse our new-client walkthrough questions: priorities, pets, access, products to avoid.
- Price from your costsUse the price calculator for each service you're quoting.
- Separate the first cleanA home that hasn't been cleaned in a while takes longer; price the first visit on its own line.
- Write what's not includedIt prevents the most common disagreement.
- Set an expiry dateSo an old quote doesn't come back months later at an old price.
- Send it the same daywith your agreement and client policies. Free agreement template.
Sales tax on estimates
If your state taxes cleaning, show sales tax as its own line. In Texas, tax is due on the charge to clean a home or any other building.[1]
