Invoice habits that get you paid
- Number every invoice in order, and keep copies with your records. The IRS says to keep tax records for 3 years in most situations.[1]
- Put the due date on it and the payment methods you accept.
- Show sales tax separately if your state taxes cleaning (Texas does[2]).
- Agree payment terms before the first clean in your service agreement.
- Follow up on unpaid invoices weekly. A simple tracker (the Launch Sheet has one) shows who owes what.
